A great weekend escape away, whether you want an injection of energy or prefer to chill out and take it easy.

Our Pick ‘n’ Mix Escapes aren’t so much a fitness weekend, as a chance to get away and do stuff that makes you smile.

Yes, you’ll have a choice of classes to pick from, but more importantly, you’ll have time away from home, with both mental and physical space to help you relax and unwind.

We’ve done the thinking & planning for you. A lovely environment in our private venue, great teachers, spectacular views and pubs and restaurants down the hill.

All you have to do is turn up on the Friday, let your hair down and decide whether to join a class or sip a glass of something lovely on our private terrace. 

And that’s how it goes for the next 2 days 😉

Core classes

Yoga, Pilates & Stretch are 3 core classes we offer on this weekend – some of which will be repeated. Once you sign up you’ll also be offered Boxing, Kickboxing and Abs Blast, with the most popular being added to the timetable.

If you’ve been away with us before, you’ll already know…

…That you’ll feel welcome as soon as you arrive; the teachers are down to earth, knowledgeable and inclusive whatever your experience; everything is optional and you choose as and when to chat and get to know other people. 

Here’s what you won’t know.

This is the first time we’ve had exclusive use of a venue.
Oh and the kitchen is for vegetarian use only, which is good to know.

Refurbished in the last couple of months, everything is clean, fresh and very welcoming. We have the whole place to ourselves, so we can spread out (and lounge about).

We’re all there for the same thing – to switch off, have a laugh and a welcome change of scenery. It’ll be a friendly and safe environment, with some wonderful classes to choose from too.

Inside we’ve a large, light-flooded lounge and a cosy snug area, plus outside we can spill out onto our own private terrace. 

Yes this does refer to wine or any other tipple you fancy. But equally, as we have a self-catering kitchen, you can bring and make your own particular cuppa too of course.

The Classes

Yoga, Pilates & Stretch are the 3 core classes we offer on this weekend, and the most popular ones will be repeated. Once you reserve your spot, we’ll ask which other classes interest you the most, including Boxing, Kickboxing and Abs Blast. We’ll then add in the most popular ones to the timetable.

Pilates works the deep stabilising muscles to improve  strength and posture. It  has a strong mind/body connection, so you might like it if you like yoga.

It involves precise moves and specific breathing techniques and increases body awareness which encourages efficient and graceful movement.

Yoga works the whole body to improve strength and posture. This is a combination of Sivananda and Ashtanga yoga. Tony has an inclusive teaching style, guiding beginners & non-beginners through a flow of poses and sequences that will improve flexibility, stamina & strength, enhancing posture & encouraging a sense of well-being.

Stretch is a wonderful refreshing tonic for the whole body, helping keep muscles flexible, strong & healthy. Flexibility allows us to maintain a range of motion in the joints, helping prevent muscles from shortening and becoming tight.

Putting on boxing gloves and hitting pads is very satisfying. Taught in a very safe environment, you’ll leave feeling energised, probably wondering where all the time has gone.

Everyone can enjoy this class – it’s both technical & practical as well as good fun. You’ll practise classic kicks hitting a pad – not another person!

Cilla will lead you through this express class. Work your core muscle area and you’ll be doing your whole body a favour 😉


Both our teachers offer alternatives throughout the classes making them suitable for most people whatever your level of fitness and experience.

We have two fantastic teachers taking the classes – both with a huge amount of experience and talent who’ll make sure you get the most of each session. They’ll make you feel welcome whether you’re a complete beginner or more experienced. 

Cilla has over 30 years experience in teaching fitness and pilates classes, and makes everyone feel welcome whatever their ability-level. She keeps classes light-hearted & enjoyable whilst providing clear technical guidance.

Sensei Tony Mousah is a highly experienced instructor and a 5th Dan black belt in martial arts. He has been practising yoga & teaching for over 15 years. 

Venue & Location

Recently been taken over by an arts charity, The Hebden Bridge Hostel is nestled in stunning woodland and gardens, within 10 minutes walk from centre of the vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. It offers contemporary & comfortable accommodation with self-catering vegetarian kitchen facilities.

Hebden Bridge is famous for its literary connections; LGBTQ community; its’ many restaurants, coffee houses, independent shops, canal and marina amongst other things.

What’s Included

  • Your chosen accommodation for two nights
  • 7 classes over the weekend. Come to any or all of them 😉
  • A welcome meal on Friday evening
  • A vegetarian breakfast both mornings
  • Refreshments throughout the weekend
  • Use of all facilities including a lounge area, a snug and private terrace.

What’s not included

  • Transport to and from the venue
  • Saturday lunch & evening meal


On Friday evening, we’ll provide a vegetarian welcome meal. After you’ve booked a place we’ll ask you for any specific dietary requirements you might have, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

A hot & cold vegetarian breakfast buffet is included on both mornings.

For Saturday evening, feel free to either make your own arrangements or join us for a meal in a great local restaurant.

There’s a well-equipped self-catering kitchen where you might like to prepare a meal or lunch yourself. This is convenient if you have any particular dietary or budgetary requirements.


We’ll confirm exact timings a few weeks before, but this is what we expect:

Check in: From 3pm on the Friday.
Check out: will be 11am on the Sunday.

Classes:  Two classes on Friday evening; one session before breakfast both mornings and 3 classes on Saturday late afternoon/early evening.

All rooms are en-suite with a WC, shower & sink.

For either 3 or 4 people sharing:

£229 p.p. The ensuite room has 4 single beds, 2 of which are accessed by ladders to a mezzanine area (see photo below, although ladder is not in shot!).

For 2 people:

£269 p.p. Twin en-suite with a WC, shower & sink.

£289 p.p. Double bed & a single bed, en-suite with WC, shower & sink. NONE REMAINING

Payment Method

A non refundable deposit of £50 secures your place, and any remaining balance is due by 1st August. After the 1st August, the full balance is due.
